Start your day with a convenient pickup from central Auckland or meet us directly at Piha, just a 40-minute drive from Auckland.

Into the Wilderness

Once you arrive in Piha, the journey starts with a scenic 35-minute walk through lush rainforest, leading you to the canyon’s entrance.

What level of fitness is required for the canyoning tour?

You should have a moderate to good level of fitness. Participants need to manage a 35-minute walk through rainforest terrain in wetsuits, navigate slippery volcanic rocks, hike uphill, abseil waterfalls (up to -50 m), swim, jump, and climb through narrow gorges, caves, and pools.

Do I need any prior canyoning experience?

Nope. No experience is necessary. You’ll receive full instruction, a comprehensive safety briefing, and be accompanied by experienced guides.

Is there a age limit for participants?

The minimum age required is 12 years.

What happens in case of bad weather?

Canyoning requires suitable weather. If poor conditions arise (e.g. risk of flooding, safety concerns), we will cancel the trip or reschedule and you can receive a full refund.
