Situated on the Haast Pass Highway, a 45-minute drive from Wānaka and an hour from the West Coast.

Additional Information

The Heli Siberia is designed for individuals with moderate fitness levels and higher. The unguided walk spans 7km in total on a well-marked track. While there is a 2.5km uphill stretch, the remainder of the route descends and follows the picturesque Wilkin Valley along the valley floor. We strongly recommend wearing hiking footwear and staying vigilant for track hazards and weather changes, as this is remote terrain.
A minimum of 2 people are required to run the tour.

The hike is self-guided.

It’s classified as moderate fitness. Expect a 2.5 km uphill section, followed by a mostly downhill and valley-floor walk. Overall, the 7 km trek usually takes between 3–4 hours.

Are life jackets or other safety equipment provided?

Yes. Particularly for children, appropriate life jackets are supplied for the jet boat ride.
