Discover the secret lives of kiwi. Ngā Manu is part of the NZ National Captive Kiwi Breeding Programme, and as part of this, there is a private kiwi enclosure replicating a kiwi’s natural habitat. This unique enclosure is only available to visitors on the Kiwi Night Encounter. Visitors enter the enclosure to find rows of wooden benches to sit and wait; there are cushions and rugs for their comfort. The ambience is almost spiritual as they sit in silence with only the sounds of the other native birds in the reserve calling in the distance. Full refund if cancelled up to 14 days before activity starts.

There is a minimum number of travellers for this experience. If the minimum isn't met and we need to cancel, we will offer a different date/experience or a full refund.

Terms

Cancellations or requests for changes must be advised in writing or by phone and acknowledged by Nga Manu within office hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 4:30pm at least 24 hours before the commencement time of the booking.
Cancellations made before the commencement time of the tour or experience will incur the following charges (expressed as a percentage of the total invoiced price for the tour or experience):
• 25% deposit required to secure booking.
• More than 14 days prior to commencement no charge.
• More than 24 hours prior to commencement 25% up to a maximum of $250.
• 24 hours or less prior to commencement 75% up to a maximum of $250.
• No show will result in no refund.
Refunds
No refunds will be made once tour has commenced.
No refund will be available in respect of any tours, accommodation, hires, services or inclusions not utilised unless extenuating circumstances apply. In such instances, final decisions will be made at the discretion of Ngā Manu management.
