Experience the thrill of riding our unique 2-seater quad bikes or 3-seater buggies through a variety of terrain, including Jurassic-like rainforest, ancient glacial riverbed, and grassland. We can have fun in the sun and see spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and the famous Franz Josef Glacier, OR as we like to say, the wetter the better to get down and dirty in the mud and water. Let us take you on an amazing, guided off-roading adventure. Ride through a beautiful rainforest, splash through rivers, and explore an ancient glacier riverbed while being blown away by the breathtaking scenery, including the spectacular Southern Alps and Franz Josef Glacier.

Your guide will kit you out with wet weather gear and gumboots and teach you how to ride our off-roading vehicles. They will entertain you and amaze you with local history while refining your skills and giving you new challenges to conquer.

Please check in 15 minutes prior to your trip. Our office is located at 30 Main Road, Franz Josef, in the same building as Glacier Helicopters and Air Safaris.

We operate in all weather, rain, hail or shine. Please dress for the conditions and bring socks that will suit gumboots. We will provide you with wet-weather jackets, trousers, boots, and a helmet. Ladies, we recommend wearing a sports bra!

There is a minimum number of travellers for this experience. If the minimum isn't met and we need to cancel, we will offer a different date/experience or a full refund.

Terms

If booking a double quad, drivers and passengers cannot swap at any point. Drivers must be 16 years or older. Passengers on quad bike must be a minimum height of 145cm and able to have 4 points of contact i.e both hands on the handlebars and both feet on the foot pegs (we have a buggy available if too short). Passengers in the buggies must be a minimum height 110cm and able to fit our helmets

No drivers license is required to operate the quad bikes. The tour is suitable for beginners, and full training is provided before the ride.

Drivers must be a minimum of 16 years old.

Do I need to wear anything specific for the tour?

Yes. Full safety gear is provided, including helmets, wet weather jackets, pants, gumboots, gloves, and safety goggles if required. All riders are kitted out before setting off.
