Additional Information

The trail is split into four sections, an easy ride almost the entire way with the exception of the short intermediate section between Ōkaihau and Hōreke, as you make your way along a series of switchbacks down the Utakura Valley.

Although the trail can be ridden in either direction, the most popular route is downhill in either direction from Kaikohe near the centre of the trail.

Kaikohe is the location of the Cycle hub, and of both bike hire operators.
