Full Description

Departing Paihia beach at 5 pm, the boat pulls right up to the beach, where you can step aboard from the shoreline.

We set sail, taking in the scenery of the inner area of the Bay of Islands on route to our swim destination, and enjoy the beauty of our sheltered anchorage while sipping on a complimentary drink before sailing home on the sea breeze. 

The atmosphere of an evening cruise is just something you have to experience for yourself!

Meeting Point

The trip departs from Paihia beach, which is the beach on the south side of the Paihia wharf. Don't get confused with Waitangi Beach; if you go there, you may miss the departure time. If you are unsure, check Google Maps.

When you arrive, you will see the boat anchored close to the shoreline. Please be ready to board the boat at 4.45, we depart at 5 pm.

Please bring warm clothing, a hat, sunblock, a bottle of water, swimwear & a towel, and a smile:)
You are welcome to bring a snack or drink.

Barefoot’s vessel ‘Kopiko’ is Maritime New Zealand surveyed: Barefoot Sailing Adventures is externally audited to ensure systems and operating procedures are of highest standards. There is a documented maintenance program, vessel and all gear is maintained regularly. Crew undertake regular safety drills and training.

Is the cruise suitable for children and elder people?

This cruise is not suitable for children under 5 due to the late evening timing. Children aged 5 and over are fine, provided they are not overly active, and they must be able to swim unassisted should there be opportunities for swimming.

Are snacks also provided on the cruise?

No food or snacks are provided. Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks, as this cruise is pitched as a pre-dinner experience. 

What should I wear for the evening cruise?

You are recommended to wear layered clothes and non-slip shoes.

Is the sailing cruise wheelchair accessible?

Not wheelchair accessible. However, they may accommodate guests with mobility issues on a case-by-case basis, so reaching out ahead of booking is recommended.

How many passengers are on the sailing vessel?

The maximum number of passengers is 16, and this count includes children, even babies or young children, who count as a full person for seat allocation. 

What should I bring for the tour?

Please bring warm clothing, a hat, sunblock, a bottle of water, swimwear, and a towel. Also, don’t forget your smile!
 

When should I be ready to board the boat?

Please be ready to board the boat at 4:45 PM, as we depart at 5:00 PM sharp.

Yes, a minimum number of travelers is required. If the minimum isn’t met and we need to cancel, we will offer a different date, an alternative experience, or a full refund.
 

What happens if it rains or the bad weather on that day ?

Poor weather means cancellation or rescheduling, with a full refund offered if conditions are unsafe.
