Pick up from Auckland to start your ebike ride in the small regional town of Ngaruawahia. Ride beside the breathtakingly beautiful Waikato River for 20 km into Hamilton Central. Follow your experienced guide through a custom route to show you some of the different aspects of Hamilton city, including the War Memorial Gardens and a local pubic reserve with a lovely mature grove of Totara trees. Lunch in Hamilton Gardens, while you decide on how much more adventure you want in the afternoon. Ride from the Gardens through to Cambridge on wide custom-built boardwalks on the riverbank. You can choose to ride all the way through to Lake Karapiro for a stunning end to the day's riding.

Start your ebike adventure with a convenient pick-up from Auckland if required, and begin your ride in the small regional town of Ngaruawahia, and follow the breathtaking Waikato River for 20 km into Hamilton Central. Your experienced guide will lead you on a custom route showcasing various aspects of Hamilton city, including the War Memorial Gardens and a local public reserve with a lovely mature grove of Totara trees.

Itinerary:

8:00-8:30 - Pickup from Auckland Pickup point (or Auckland hotel)

8:30-10:15 - Travel to the railhead

10:15 - 10:30 - Bike setup per rider and safety briefing

10:30 -11:30 - Ride 12km from Ngaruawahia to Pukete (Hamilton) for morning tea stop

11:45 - 13:00 - Ride 15km from Pukete to Hamilton Gardens

13:00 - 13:45 - Lunch in Hamilton Gardens

14:00 - 15:45 - Ride 25km from Hamilton Gardens to Cambridge Velodrome (option to ride an additional 15km to Lake Karapiro)

15:45 - 18:00 - Pack up and travel back to the Auckland drop-off point/hotel

No prior experience is required. 

What kind of terrain will I be riding on?

You’ll mainly ride on Grade 1–2 terrain, featuring80% wide paved cycleways beside the Waikato River, 15% custom-built 3-meter-wide boardwalks along the riverbank, and 5% road riding for short stretches.

What should I wear on the tour?

Comfortable active wear and closed-toe shoes.

What happens in case of bad weather?

Good weather is required for the tour. If poor weather arises,  R and R Adventures offers either a full refund or allows you to reschedule for a different date.

Is there a minimum number of participants required for the tour?

Yes, tours require a minimum of four participants to run.

What is your cancellation policy?
