Coromandel Zipline Tours offers a unique New Zealand zipline adventure and is a must-do activity in The Coromandel. By joining us, you help support Driving Creek’s not-for-profit mission to protect and restore native biodiversity.

Your adventure begins with a scenic railway ride through regenerating forest, followed by eight thrilling ziplines through the canopy. Along the way, discover how this once-logged landscape has been transformed into a thriving hand-planted forest, home to regenerating kauri and kiwi.

Coromandel Zipline Tours is a family-friendly activity and takes up to 2 hours and 30 minutes.

You’ll find us just outside Coromandel Town, with plenty of on-site parking available.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your tour.

If you’re using GPS, enter 380 Driving Creek Road, Coromandel.

Once you arrive, check in at our reception to collect your ticket. Our friendly team will assist you and answer any last questions.

We run zipline tours in almost any weather, sun, cloud, or rain. In fact, ziplining in the rain is a special experience! To keep you comfortable, we provide high-quality waterproof jackets that keep you warm and dry.

Our on-site weather station monitors wind conditions to ensure your safety. If strong winds or storms occur, we may delay or cancel tours and will contact you to offer rescheduling or a full refund.

How long does the zipline tour take?

The full experience lasts approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, which includes a scenic ride on the Driving Creek railway, a safety briefing, gear fitting, forest walk, and the zipline adventure itself. Smaller tours of 1 - 4 people can take less time.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, pre-booking is highly recommended, especially during weekends, public holidays, and school breaks, as tours often fill up quickly.

Is there an age or weight limit for participants?

Participants must be at least 6 years old, and weigh less then 120 kg (265 lbs) to safely ride the ziplines. Children under 15 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Is it safe?

Absolutely. Safety is our top priority. Our zipline system is built to international standards, we are a register adventure activity operator, and all guests are fitted with top-of-the-line safety gear and harnesses. Tours are led by professionally trained guides.

What should I wear?

Wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or jandals) and comfortable clothing suitable for walking in the forest. We also recommend bringing a light jacket, as the weather can change quickly.

Is the tour suitable for people with a fear of heights?

While the ziplines are elevated, many guests with a fear of heights still enjoy the tour thanks to the reassuring support of our guides and the gradual build-up to higher platforms. Youre never rushed, and safety is always maintained.

What happens if it rains?

The tour operates in most weather conditions, including light rain. In fact, the forest takes on a magical feel in the mist! However, tours may be rescheduled or refunded if severe weather (like strong winds or lightning) makes it unsafe to continue. We also have enough quality rain jackets for all customers.
